yyrGames ending macOS support

For about the past 4 years, it has been a pleasure to offer my current library of games on macOS. But as I’ve mentioned before, properly supporting macOS today requires notarizing my games each time I build or update them, which would cost $100 per year and also require (significant) extra time for the process. I still, to date, have not grossed $100 lifetime in sales on the Mac platform. From a financial standpoint, I can’t even justify supporting macOS to the extent that I currently am, let alone supporting it properly going forward. So I’m making the difficult decision to discontinue Mac support across my product line.

Farewell, Internet Ranking

Xbox Live Indie Games didn't support Leaderboards. So several XBLIG used various methods to get around this limitation. Some used a peer-to-peer system to provide in-game leaderboards, but this required Xbox Live Gold, and became fragmented as the player count dropped. So most yyrGames titles used a system called Internet Ranking. The games would provide 16-digit alphanumeric codes that corresponded to your score or time; yyrgames.com would accept these codes, and post your results.

After 11 years, and after accepting 619 entries from 178 unique players, Internet Ranking was closed on November 23, 2019. The most popular leaderboard, Snake360's Course 1 on Easy, contained 54 entries. To all players who participated, from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much!

End of Internet Ranking service

Hello yyrGames fans!!

As many of you know, Xbox Live Indie Games did not support proper leaderboards. Some games instead utilized Web-based scoreboards, or a peer-to-peer system (as CardArcade does).
