I survived the Web site upgrade!

Oh, man. I'm super glad that this worked!

A former co-worker of mine convinced me not to use WordPress when I set up my Web site back in...oh, I don't even know. Probably in 2011 or 2012 or so. Why? Because--at least at that time--WordPress sites were notoriously easy to hack and exploit. Drupal seemed to be a bit more secure, so I went with Drupal 7, which was the latest version at the time.

Super Multitasking expansion is in production!

Since I’ve been quiet for awhile, I just wanted to post an update for anyone wondering: the Super Multitasking Versus Ultimate expansion is in active production. I’m currently working on the new minigames! I’m super happy with what I have so far, and I’m really looking forward to showing you the new additions…but please be patient for now! My wife went back to work, my daughter has entered daycare, and our routine has significantly changed, so having energy at the end of the day to work on projects is tough! I’m still hoping to release this year, but I’ll have a better idea of how realistic that is by the end of summer. Thanks for playing Super Multitasking!

    yyrGames ending macOS support

For about the past 4 years, it has been a pleasure to offer my current library of games on macOS. But as I’ve mentioned before, properly supporting macOS today requires notarizing my games each time I build or update them, which would cost $100 per year and also require (significant) extra time for the process. I still, to date, have not grossed $100 lifetime in sales on the Mac platform. From a financial standpoint, I can’t even justify supporting macOS to the extent that I currently am, let alone supporting it properly going forward. So I’m making the difficult decision to discontinue Mac support across my product line.

Now, under the new title “Indie Maker Syndicate,” they are running their first virtual indie game showcase! It’s called MakersPlay, and it’s taking place this weekend, from Friday, March 26th through Sunday, March 28th.

Pixel Poops now available on Steam!

The new version of Pixel Poops is here! Pixel Poops 64 (for Commodore 64) and the long-awaited Pixel Poops Number Two (for NES) have released as well! I hope that you enjoy playing them!

    Notice of price increase

Over the course of the last 13+ years, I have spent many thousands of hours creating, refining, and releasing arcade-style games with little more than my own two hands. The price tags on my games represent some of the best values available anywhere...in part, because my games don't cost as much as they should.

Charging too little for my games makes them look "cheaper" than they actually are. Anyone who has played my games for any length of time knows how refined and polished they are, despite their simple appearances. In an effort to more accurately convey their level of quality, on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021, I will be adjusting the prices of my currently-released games on Steam as follows:

    Pixel Poops Direct: Sunday 12/6

Mostly Random Games, a division of yyrGames, would like to proudly announce Pixel Poops Direct, a short video presentation revealing and celebrating what's next for 2020, The Year Of Poop. Please join us during next week's Orange Lounge Radio, beginning on Sunday, December 6th at 9PM ET/6PM PT, for something...truly moving.

Pixel Poops' leaderboards have been fixed

The leaderboards for my Web-based game, Pixel Poops, were broken when I upgraded the PHP version that my Web site uses, some months ago. I just realized this recently...sorry! You can now view them again, but new scores aren't posting. EDIT 11/6/2020: New scores post now! You can learn more about the game or play it for free here. Also, there may be more of it coming soon...

    Statement on current events

A lot’s been happening in the world lately. Silence, in some cases, is anything but golden, so I just wanted to make a few comments, not only on what’s been happening, but also the effect that it’s had on me, on my family, and on yyrGames.

There are many skills that young children easily acquire over time, such as the ability to walk, or to speak their parents’ language. Racism is not one of these. No child learns racism naturally; it has to be taught, either directly or by example. And yet, racism continues to be passed down from one generation to the next, despite the fact that it presents no benefit to anyone. It is used only to tear others down, when in fact, we should all be on the same team.
