ALL Xbox Live Indie Games titles have been delisted

Hello.

Xbox Live Indie Games have gone away.

Unfortunately, just like all 3,000+ other Xbox Live Indie Games titles, this means that Snake360, Snake360 Lite, CardArcade, Falling, Sharpshooter, Bungee Ferret Tossing, Multitasking, and Snake Party are no longer available for purchase. It was a good run!

FAQ

Q: What exact day did this happen?
A: The delisting was first announced for September 28th, 2017, but was then announced to have been delayed until Saturday, October 7th, 2017. But we all know that very little business gets done over the weekend, so nothing actually appeared to have been delisted until Monday, October 9th, 2017. The delisting began on that day and continued through Tuesday, October 10th, 2017, on which I'm writing this post. At this time, it appears that, while all XBLIG are still visible both on the X360 console and on the Marketplace Web site, none of them can actually still be purchased (an error code appears when you try).
UPDATE 10/16/2017: As of now, all but 3 (!) of the XBLIG have been removed from both the X360 console's Indie area and the Marketplace Web site. (The remaining 3 games are actually still able to be purchased.)
UPDATE 2/10/2018: The last 3 XBLIG games have been delisted, and Rock Band Network songs (which used XBLIG as a backbone) will be delisted this month. I guess they're finally bringing the system down.
UPDATE 12/31/2018: Sometime in 2018, the Xbox 360 dashboard was finally updated to remove all references to the Indie category of Marketplace. References have been removed from Xbox.com as well. The delisting and removal are complete.

Q: Have I lost access to games I purchased?
A: No. You'll still be able to play them, as well as re-download them from Marketplace. You simply cannot purchase XBLIG anymore.

Q: Do you still have to be connected to Xbox Live to launch XBLIG?
A: Yes. That requirement has not changed.

Q: If I still have a Marketplace redemption code for an XBLIG title, will that still work after the delisting?
A: No. Any redemption codes you still possess are now unfortunately worthless.

Q: Will XBLIG ever be backwards compatible on Xbox One?
A: Microsoft has not announced any sort of yes or no on this. But if they had any intention of making that happen, would they really have delisted them? I interpret the existence of the Xbox Live Creators Program on Xbox One as confirmation that this will never happen.

Q: Wait, what's the Xbox Live Creators Program?
A: It's basically the replacement for XBLIG. Anyone with the knowhow can program a game and release it on Xbox One with no concept approval required, just as they did on 360 with XBLIG. It isn't exactly the same (MS themselves certify your game instead of a peer review process, for example), but it is very close in concept.

Q: Does that mean XBLIG will be ported there?
A: Not automatically. It is up to the creators. I have released Falling Plus on the new service, but I have nothing further to announce yet.

Q: I was kind of interested in (insert yyrGames title here) but never actually bought it. Will it ever come back on another platform?
A: Super Multitasking, Falling Plus, and Sharpshooter Plus, which are updated versions of Multitasking, Falling, and Sharpshooter, are now available. Bungee Ferret Tossing 1.5, an updated version of Bungee Ferret Tossing, has been announced. As for the rest: I want the answer to be yes, and will do everything I can to make the answer be yes, but life is short and throws us curveballs, so I'm not making any other commitments at this time. However, please check back. Any announcements I make will be proudly displayed right here on yyrgames.com!
