I survived the Web site upgrade!

Oh, man. I'm super glad that this worked!

A former co-worker of mine convinced me not to use WordPress when I set up my Web site back in...oh, I don't even know. Probably in 2011 or 2012 or so. Why? Because--at least at that time--WordPress sites were notoriously easy to hack and exploit. Drupal seemed to be a bit more secure, so I went with Drupal 7, which was the latest version at the time.

August XBLIG giveaway!

As I've mentioned, XBLIG are all being delisted next month, mine included.

Interested in one of my games, but not sure if you want to buy it? You can have it. Just ask.

You see, when each Xbox Live Indie Game was published, the creator received 50 free download codes. These were intended to be used for reviewers, for giveaways, or for whatever. But I'm guessing that these codes will no longer work after the delisting. Granted, this has not been confirmed or denied by anyone at Microsoft, but I have my doubts. And what good would it do to hold on to download codes that no longer work?

Falling Plus released!

yyrGames' first-ever title on PC and Mac has been released! It's Falling Plus, a polished and refined version of our 2010 arcade-style puzzle game featuring Peppy the Penguin!

Click here to learn all about it. Or, head to its itch.io page and buy it now for just $1.49!

yyrGames' XBLIG, in a nutshell

Edit (10/10/2017): Xbox Live Indie Games have now been delisted; these titles are no longer available for sale.

With mere months to go until XBLIG disappear forever, I figured I'd remind everyone of what yyrGames titles are now being offered on the service. If you like arcade-style games, you'll almost certainly enjoy these on your Xbox 360! Click on any title to learn more!

Xbox Live Creators Program announced!

We now know that Microsoft will be bringing an XBLIG-style service to Xbox One. The Creators Program will allow us to self-publish games on Xbox One, without concept approval or significant expenses.

It's too early to make any announcements, and the service isn't even available yet, but rest assured...you will definitely see yyrGames titles on XB1 thanks to this service! The fact that leaderboards will now be supported sweetens the deal even further! Stay tuned...

The end of Internet Ranking

Unfortunately, the Internet Ranking feature in my XBLIG releases was designed in such a way that it only lasts for about seven and a half years. After this time, the games will produce codes that simply don't work. Snake360's time already ran out; this will also affect Falling and Sharpshooter during 2017. For more information, please click here.

Snake Party is out!

The final yyrGames release on Xbox 360 is also one of the last Xbox Live Indie Games ever! Please enjoy the ultimate evolution of Snake360's 4-player Battle Mode, along with 100+ Missions and much, much more! To learn more, click here!

No Game Left Behind

Over the last eight years, I've built a bit of a catalog. And while my arcade-style games aren't going to be revered or remembered by most, I don't want to see them disappear with the closure of Xbox Live Indie Games. Don't worry, I have a plan!

Depending on the title, I will be planning to bring each of my games forward in one of three different ways.

Multitasking is Greenlit! Also...

OMGOMGOMG!!!! Thank you all, for your support! Or perhaps I somehow succeeded in brainwashing a significant number of people! But whatever the cause, Multitasking has passed Greenlight!

I still intend to release Snake Party on XBLIG first, but you know I'll be working over the next several months to bring Multitasking to Steam as soon as I'm physically capable! Please check back, as I'll post regular updates!

Now, I'm going to comment briefly on an announcement that the fine folks at id@Xbox made a few days ago.

Statement on XBLIG closure

It is with disappointment that I acknowledge the coming closing of Xbox Live Indie Games, though it is not with surprise.

From start to finish, XBLIG has been amazing for everyone involved. I never dreamed that I'd be able to publish games on a retail game console, and here I've released half a dozen. That being said, seeing as how most existing yyrGames products are XBLIG, I feel the need to provide some information here on how this affects the present and future of yyrGames.
